Introduction
Hark Angels builds schools in Cambodia and Myanmar. Twelve of them in seven years, on under $100,000 a year, with near-zero overheads.
Every dollar donated goes to the build. Travel, food and accommodation on project visits are paid for privately by the people who go, not from donations. Communities contribute money, labour or materials, own the school at completion, and receive government-approved, government-funded teachers.
This page is where we show the structure behind that. Who oversees the work, how the money is handled, and what we publish. If you are considering a corporate partnership, a major gift, or you are advising someone who is, this is the page to read.
Accreditations
Hark Angels is a registered charity in Australia and reports to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Our registration details, responsible persons and annual information statements are on the public ACNC register and can be checked independently at any time. Hark Angel Foundation Ltd (ABN 31 624 912 054) has been registered with the ACNC since March 2018 and is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient.
We are also working through a defined credentialing program over the next 24 months:
- ACFID accreditation, scoped and on a set timeline
- Membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia
- Our first published Annual Report and Impact Report
- Documented board composition and credentials, published here
We would rather tell you where we are up to than imply we are further along.

Our Board
The board exists so the work does not depend on any one person. Between them, our directors bring financial governance and executive leadership at scale, law and public policy, and urban planning and community development. They meet regularly, review each build against budget, and hold Hark Angels to the standard we publish here.
The mission is one hundred schools in communities the world has overlooked, delivered through a model we run end to end. We fundraise, we build, we hand the school to the community that owns it, and we stay in relationship with it afterwards. That closed loop is not a byproduct of being small. It is the reason we can tell you exactly how money moves, who made each decision, and where the outcome landed.
Hark Angels is the charity that knows the names, of the schools, the community leaders, the students and the donors, and the board's role is to make sure that holds as we grow.

Richie Harkham
Founder & Director
Richie is the founder of Hark Angels. An entrepreneur and winemaker with interests across business and hospitality, his path into philanthropy began with a serious accident and a life changing transplant made possible by a young donor. He built a school in that donor's name, and Hark Angels grew from there. Richie leads the Foundation's work on the ground, travelling to the communities where the schools are built and driving the mission to build 100 of them.

Kris Gale
Director
Kris has spent more than 25 years working at the intersection of policy, law and government funding, advising organisations across a wide range of industries and contributing to national policy discussion. As a Hark Angels board member, he brings sharp strategic thinking and a deep understanding of governance, helping the Foundation grow sustainably as it works towards its goal of 100 schools.

Melissa Neighbour
Melissa is an urban planner and sustainability specialist who leads Sky Planning, a purpose driven consultancy in Sydney. Her career has focused on how places shape the lives of the people in them. On the Hark Angels board, she brings a perspective grounded in community and the built environment, helping guide how our schools serve the villages around them for decades to come.

Adrian Hondros
Adrian brings decades of senior leadership across banking, wealth management and construction, having held CEO and executive roles at some of Australia's best known financial institutions. He now runs Hondros Consulting, advising organisations on strategy and governance. As a member of the Hark Angels board, Adrian helps ensure the Foundation is run with the same rigour and transparency donors expect of any well governed organisation.

Stephen Jedovnicky
Stephen brings a business owner's practical eye to the board and a belief that the right school in the right place changes the whole community. He backs the way Hark Angels works, close to the ground and accountable for every dollar, and we are grateful to have him alongside us on the way to 100 schools.
Financials
Twelve schools across two countries in seven years, on under $100,000 a year, with near zero overheads. Every dollar donated goes into the build. Travel, food and accommodation on project visits are paid for privately by the people who go, not from donations. Communities contribute money, labour or materials, own the school on completion, and receive government approved, government funded teachers.
Our registration details, responsible persons and annual information statements are on the public ACNC register and can be checked independently at any time. Our first Annual Report and Impact Report will be published here, and ACFID accreditation and Fundraising Institute of Australia membership are scoped and on a defined timeline rather than claimed today.
The discipline is the point. A dollar given here is not diluted through layers of administration before it reaches the ground. It becomes a classroom, a roof, and a teacher standing in front of a room of children who now have somewhere to be.
