Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 October 2026

Hark Angel Foundation Ltd (ABN 31 624 912 054), known as Hark Angels, is a registered Australian charity. This policy explains what personal information we collect through harkangels.org, why we collect it and how we look after it.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you donate: your name, email address, the amount and how often you give, and any note or dedication you add. Stripe, our payment provider, collects your card or bank details directly. We never see or store them.

When you send an enquiry or apply for The Trip: your name and email address, and anything else you choose to give us, such as your phone number, country, company, preferred trip, number of travellers and your message.

When you join our newsletter: your email address and the date you confirmed your subscription.

To keep spam out of our forms, we check that a real person is filling them in. For this we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, which does not reveal the address itself.

We do not use advertising or analytics tracking on this site.

How we use it

We use your information to process your donation and send your receipt, to reply to your enquiry or Trip application, to send the newsletter you asked for, and to keep the records that charity and tax law require.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

Our newsletter

We only send our newsletter to people who sign up and confirm their email address. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the services that run this site for us, and only what each one needs: Stripe (payments), Postmark (email), Vercel (website hosting), Neon and Amazon Web Services (our database and file storage, both in Sydney), Cloudflare (the spam check on our forms) and Vimeo (the videos on our pages).

Event tickets are sold through Humanitix. When you buy a ticket, Humanitix collects your details under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Information held overseas

Our database and file storage are in Sydney. Some of the services above are based in, or may process information in, the United States and other countries. Each of them publishes its own privacy and security commitments.

Cookies and your browser

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser remembers a few small things on your device, such as whether you have already seen our newsletter invitation, so we do not show it to you again.

Embedded Vimeo videos and the Cloudflare spam check may set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies.

Keeping it safe

Only people we authorise can sign in to see personal information. We keep donation records for as long as tax and charity law requires, and other information only for as long as we need it.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@harkangels.org.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a concern about how we handle your information, email info@harkangels.org and we will reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
